It’s been announced that the activity of the UK residential housing market has reached its highest point for half a year, as well as realising the second highest monthly level on record.
Last month (September) saw only 0.5% less valuations being carried out compared to March this year, which was the highest on record.
When based on an annual outcome, total valuation activity has increased 29% in comparison to the same time last year, following a 23% month-on-month rebound since August of this year.
Furthermore, it has been shown in the new data that the amount of valuations carried out increased, in particular for first time buyers which grew by 25% in September, in comparison to August, as well as offering an improvement of 18% on the same time in 2014.
Activity in regards to valuation among established home movers fared even better, pleasingly. The frequency of valuations carried out for people moving house surged by 26% when compared to August, also showing a 23% improvement on September last year.
When considering the buy-to-let sector, the data showed steadier growth, with the amount of valuations increasing by 13% in the 12 months since September 2014.
